Medical mission trip
Join us in Kenya for a week of healing and service to those in need.
This medical mission trip to Kenya represents more than a week of clinical work. It is a chance to serve alongside dedicated healthcare professionals and community leaders who understand the real needs of the people we will meet. Each day is structured to provide comprehensive medical care while building relationships that matter.
We will establish a functioning clinic in a rural area where access to basic healthcare is limited. The team will see patients with various conditions, from routine ailments to more complex cases requiring careful attention. Our work includes not just treatment but education, helping families understand prevention and ongoing care.
Beyond the medical aspects, this trip carries spiritual significance. We gather in prayer before each day's work, recognizing that healing comes through many channels. The gospel message is shared naturally through our presence and actions, not forced or separated from the medical care we provide.
Previous teams have found that the relationships formed during these trips extend far beyond the week itself. Patients remember the care they received. Team members return home changed, with deeper understanding of global health challenges and renewed commitment to service. The connections made between American volunteers and Kenyan healthcare workers create lasting partnerships.
This trip is suitable for medical professionals, healthcare students, and committed volunteers with no medical background. What matters most is a genuine desire to serve and willingness to work hard in sometimes challenging conditions. The Kenyan leadership team will ensure everyone contributes meaningfully to the mission.
Accommodations are modest but adequate. Meals are provided and reflect local cuisine. The pace is demanding but sustainable, with time built in for rest and reflection. Evening debriefing sessions allow the team to process experiences and support one another.
The cost of the trip covers accommodations, meals, ground transportation, and clinic supplies. Participants are responsible for airfare and travel insurance. Fundraising support is available for those who need it. Financial barriers should not prevent someone called to this work from participating.
Dr. Kabachia leads this effort with deep knowledge of the local context and genuine relationships with the communities we serve. His vision guides the work, ensuring that our efforts align with what the people actually need rather than what we assume they need. Working under his leadership means learning from someone who has dedicated his life to this mission.
Prior medical experience is helpful but not required for all roles. We need people to assist with patient flow, translation, supply management, and countless other tasks. The team functions best when everyone understands their role and commits to excellence in that role.
This is not a vacation with medical work attached. It is serious work in service of others. It is also deeply rewarding, offering perspective that cannot be gained any other way. Those who return from these trips speak of transformation, of seeing their own lives and faith differently after witnessing the resilience and gratitude of people with so much less.
If you are considering joining this mission, take time to pray about it. Talk with previous participants. Ask yourself what you hope to contribute and what you hope to learn. Then register and begin the preparation process. The work ahead is important, and we need committed people willing to show up and do it well.
