Jesus Harvesters Agape Bible College

The Engine of Kingdom Multiplication

Formation

A Long-Held Vision Now Realized

For many years, adequate pastoral training has been a key prayer item for Jesus Harvesters Ministries and Agape Fellowship Centre. The vision was simple yet profound: see pastors and leaders in Kenya thoroughly equipped for service to God. In 2025, that vision reached a milestone with the official launch of the Jesus Harvesters Agape Bible College (JHABC) western campus in Kapenguria, Kenya.

Impact

From Satellite Training to Central Campus: A Strategic Evolution

The journey to the Kapenguria campus represents the culmination of years of grassroots pastor training across Kenya. In order to sustain a church planting movement in East Africa, we saw the need to develop and support pastors who were called by God to serve in their communities in church leadership. Thus, the Bible College began in 1999 with classes held at the Madaraka church campus in Nairobi.

Each year, a cohort of students underwent theological training that included Bible training, theology, doctrine, spiritual formation, church planting, and counseling. In the mid-2010s, we saw the need to expand access to this training through the development of satellite campuses across Kenya. Beginning in 2021, JHM partnered with Designs for Hope to implement the Bible Training School (BTS) curriculum through a network of regional satellite training centers. This innovative model brought theological education directly to pastors serving in remote regions who could never afford to leave their congregations for extended periods.

This decentralized approach proved the demand and demonstrated the transformative impact of quality theological training. Pastors who previously had minimal or no formal ministry training were being equipped with sound Biblical foundations, practical ministry skills, and leadership development—all while continuing to serve their local churches.

  • Karatina (Central Kenya): The pioneering center, launching in January 2021 with 25 students enrolled in the "Kingdom, Covenants & Canon of the Old Testament" course. By 2023, this center had graduated 20 students.

  • West Pokot (North Rift): A satellite campus with cohorts ranging from 14-22 students, strategically training pastors who were immediately enlisted into church planting efforts in this frontier region.

  • Voi (Coast Region): A second center launched to extend training to coastal regions.

  • Mwatate: Another training hub that graduated 14 students in March 2025.

Multiplication

Strategic Vision

Through a long term strategic partnership with Foundation for Hope, Agape Fellowship Center launched its first Jesus Harvesters Agape Bible College campus in Kapenguria, Kenya. This campus represents the centralization and professionalization of this vision, serving as the flagship institution that will anchor the network while maintaining the regional satellite approach that has proven so effective. JHABC will have the capacity to train up to 60 students with either a one-year certificate or two-year diploma. This is a residential campus that facilitates a living-learning community to maximize their theological training and spiritual growth.

The genius of JHM's approach lies in the direct connection between pastoral training and church planting. This isn't just academic education—it's leadership development designed to multiply Kingdom impact. Graduates from Bible College satellite centers are immediately mobilized for church planting.

Equipping

The Multiplying Investment

Supporting Jesus Harvesters Agape Bible College represents one of the most strategic investments a donor can make in Kingdom advancement:

Each trained pastor becomes a catalyst for community transformation, church planting, and leadership multiplication. One graduate doesn't just lead one church—they train others, plant new congregations, and raise up the next generation of leaders. ‍By investing in local, indigenous leaders rather than maintaining external control, donor support creates self-sustaining ministry that continues long after initial funding. These are Kenyan and East African leaders who understand the culture, speak the languages, and are committed for life. JHM maintains strong accountability through partnerships with Designs for Hope, oversight by a committed U.S. board of directors, annual external audits, and detailed financial reporting. Donors can invest with confidence.
